The fact

The DSCI and SANS Institute Indian Cyber Security Skilling Landscape Report 2025–26, released 1 May 2026, reported that 73% of enterprises and 68% of providers saw limited availability of skilled cybersecurity candidates. It also said 84% of organisations reported taking between one and six months to fill cybersecurity roles. [Source: DSCI and SANS Institute, 1 May 2026.]

The study covers cybersecurity talent broadly; it is not a survey of cybersecurity-sales vacancies.

What this means for a seller

Security knowledge can strengthen a commercial career because customers and internal teams need people who can understand risk, evidence and technical boundaries without blurring job roles. The opportunity is not to imitate an engineer; it is to become the salesperson, pre-sales professional or channel manager who knows when a claim is supported, when a specialist is needed and which decision remains open.
