India’s tech sector added a six-figure number of net jobs
ASTRA Ready editorial ·

The fact
Reuters reported on 24 February 2026, citing Nasscom, that India’s technology sector was expected to add 135,000 net new jobs in FY2026, taking total sector employment to about 5.95 million. The same report said industry revenue was expected to reach $315 billion, up 6.1% year on year. [Source: Reuters, 24 February 2026.]
Those figures describe the technology industry as a whole. They do not say that 135,000 sales jobs were created, and they should not be used as a forecast for any one commercial role. [Source: Reuters, 24 February 2026.]
What this means for a seller
A large, still-growing technology sector creates more products, services, accounts and customer problems that need commercial people, but role-level demand can move differently from the industry total. Treat sector growth as context, then judge an opportunity by the actual job scope, buyer segment, quota design and skills the employer is asking for.
