The fact

The Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026, published 12 January 2026, reported that 73% of respondents said they or someone in their network had been personally affected by cyber-enabled fraud during 2025. The same report says CEOs ranked cyber-enabled fraud as their leading cyber concern. [Source: World Economic Forum, 12 January 2026.]

This is a global survey finding, not a prediction that a particular customer will suffer a fraud event.

What this means for a seller

Fraud can involve security, identity, finance, payments and customer operations at the same time. Map the process the buyer wants to protect and the decision your product can actually influence. Use the external statistic to explain why the issue deserves attention, then return to customer evidence instead of using fear or a global percentage as the business case.
