The fact

PrepNPlaced reported on 29 July 2026 that 908 of 15,429 Indian technology job postings in its May-to-July dataset were tagged entry-level or junior, equal to 5.9%. The report says the corpus was collected from LinkedIn and Naukri company feeds and notes its own methodology and limitations. [Source: PrepNPlaced, 29 July 2026.]

This is one job-posting dataset, not a census of every technology vacancy in India.

What this means for a seller

Early-career candidates should make capability visible: show that you can research an account, ask disciplined discovery questions, explain a technical concept in business language and handle a customer objection without inventing facts. A candidate who can demonstrate those behaviours gives a hiring manager more evidence than someone who relies only on a degree, certificate or enthusiasm for technology.
