Modern digital credentials can carry issuer, criteria, recipient and evidence metadata
ASTRA Ready editorial ·

The fact
1EdTech’s Open Badges 3.0 release on 29 May 2024 says the standard lets issuers embed information including the criteria assessed, evidence of skill, issue information and a verifiable reference to the recipient. [Source: 1EdTech, United States, 29 May 2024.]
That does not mean every digital badge uses Open Badges or that metadata alone proves job performance.
What this means for a seller
When you share a credential, the useful information sits behind the image.
An employer should be able to see who issued it, what achievement was claimed, when it was awarded and what criteria were used. Candidates should therefore prefer a live verification route over a screenshot when one exists.
Employers should still test whether the assessed capability matters to the role and current vacancy clearly.
