54% of one cloud-security survey used four or more data-risk tools
ASTRA Ready editorial ·

The fact
The Cloud Security Alliance reported on 27 February 2025 that 54% of organisations in its 912-response data-security-risk survey used four or more tools to manage data risks. The same release said nearly 80% expressed low or no confidence in their ability to address high-risk data sources. [Source: Cloud Security Alliance, 27 February 2025.]
The study reflects its survey sample, not every cloud customer.
What this means for a seller
Do not assume that adding another security tool solves the buyer’s visibility problem. Ask which data sources are visible, who owns the risk decision, where information conflicts, and which control the customer is actually trying to improve. If consolidation is part of the value, prove it against the customer’s workflow rather than treating fewer tools as automatically safer or simpler.
